How your mindset can change your career
If you follow us on social media, you know we're always talking about positivity. This is because we truly believe our thoughts are responsible for the directions we take in our life, and, as we're able to control them, we're able to write our future too.
But it's not only what we believe. According to Forbes, "Those people with a growth mindset understand that knowledge can be acquired and intelligence can be developed. With a growth mindset, people focus on improvement instead of worrying about how smart they are. They work hard to learn more and get smarter. A “growth mindset,” thrives on challenge and sees failure not as evidence of unintelligence but as a heartening springboard for growth and for stretching our existing abilities."
Have you ever woken up late, done everything in a rush then felt everything was going wrong for you during that day? Or, have you ever listened to your favourite song first thing in the morning, and realised it shifted your mood throughout the day?
Yes. If you start your day in a positive mood, it creates an ongoing cycle of positivity. But, if you start your day in a negative mood, you can definitely get into a negative cycle. Those bad days, research shows, results in 10 percent less productivity on your daily job.
It doesn't matter what career you're in or how big your dreams are - looking after your mindset is a gift you give to your present self more than your future one. Once your present is set up, you'll notice the long term magic.
There are some easy exercises to do every day. Here are some of those:
- Challenge yourself and your limiting beliefs: be committed to being your best version. And, in case you're wondering, yes, you CAN do it.
- Understand your anxiety: what's really bothering you about your routine? By understanding what you like and dislike, it will be easier to change the way you feel.
- Change your self-talk: affirmations, manifestations, you pick... But you need to stop being mean to yourself. Look at the person in the mirror, remember why you started and how amazing you are to be where you are now.
Try it for one week and let us know how you felt ;)
